Corps of Infantry

All regiments shall consist of three battalions; first and second battalions for field service and the third battalion as a depot and holding battalion for the purposes of supplying replacements for those battalions in the field.

Each battalion will have ten companies of one hundred men plus one undersized company eighty rifle armed men.

Corps of Cavalry

All regiments shall consist of five squadrons. One squadron will serve as depot and holding battalion for the purposes of supplying replacements for those squadrons in the field.

A squadron will have two troops. Each troop will have one hundred and eighty men.
